God, Let Me Lay Here & Love You - A Poem

Our hearts are vessels,
For sending and receiveing,
Love and life,
Not lies and deceiving.
There is good and evil inside us all,
The one that we feed,
Is the one that stands tall.
Like a towering tree,
In the forest so dark,
Evil will loom and make it's mark.
Our beautiful world,
Is cloaked with tragedy and sadness,
It's up to us to feed the good,
Overcome it with truth to curb the madness.
The snow capped mountains, the rivers and valleys,
The oceans, the beaches, busy streets and quite alleys,
Are all part of the beauty that we have to embrace.
A glimpse towards the heavens,
A smile from your child,
A field full of flowers, together growing wild.
Strength in numbers,
Strength through the One,
God's strength will carry us,
When we're coming undone.
Sometimes letting go,
Takes more strength than holding on,
But just remember with God, There's always a new dawn.
