Mumming, Ups and Downs

Today is Monday. However, it has felt like a nightmarish Monday since Friday, which is not the norm for us. Friday evening was wrapping up pretty smoothly. I had worked all day and was doing a little late night scrapbooking, when I received a  phone call that no mother or parent wants to receive, EVER.  Both of my boys, along with my niece, and mother were in Ft. Myers, FL, almost 400 miles away, where they had been since last Monday visiting family. The call was from my niece; my 10 year old son, Cayson, was having trouble breathing... the paramedics were already there and I was, of course, sobbing and in immediate distress myself... he was so far away and needed me and I could not be there, plus being six months pregnant and feeling that kind of fear and stress I knew wasn't the healthiest thing for his little brother in utero.  I was able to speak with my mom and the EMT who made me feel a bit of comfort.  The EMT had gotten him to take a couple of deep breaths and they were taking him to the hospital.  The next 2 hours of waiting felt like an eternity, for all of us. Cayson, ended up making it through all the testing in good standing and stabilizing rather quickly.  They are finally coming home this evening and we've got a doctor's appointment scheduled for tomorrow.  Turns out he was having some severe acid reflux, a panic attack, and possibly some other gastro issues. We are going to be traveling 3 to 4 hours to see a pediatric gastro specialist as soon as the referral process is through.  It's a great relief to know potentially, what we are dealing with, and that they will finally be home tonight!

I managed to get a nap in on Saturday after watching a movie.  That evening I spent time with my sister and great old friends, that too often I don't see.  They are awesome folks, just good humans, and it was a great pick me up to relax for a bit and be entertained and enjoy others company.  Church on Sunday morning was lovely and encouraging, followed by a yummy, hearty lunch of country style veggies and peach cobbler.  I managed to squeeze in another nap. Two naps in one weekend has got to be some kind of record for me! I'm doing good if I get in two naps in one year normally! Seriously.   I'm thankful and blessed and grateful.  Hope your weekend and the rest of your week is wonderful!

BTW... I'm still looking for a cozy, but spacious, 3 or 4 bedroom that is affordable to rent in Thomasville, Georgia, ASAP.   Soo, if you know of anyone that needs a great care taker for their home, please, send them my way or let me know.  Thanks a bunch.
